The technical workgroups will focus on a targeted set of technical needs across all three use cases (Hep C, Cancer, Health Care Surveys) AND any other use cases that use the EHR as a data source. It is important to evaluate and proposes solutions that represent BOTH public health and research perspectives.

The goal of the technical workgroups is to focus on commonalities across use cases

Priority #1: Completing what was proposed in the HL7 FHIR Project Scope Statement (PSS) “Making EHR Data More Available for Research and Public Health (MedMorph) Reference Architecture HL7 FHIR Implementation Guide” and preparing to ballot at the September 2020 HL7 meeting

MedMorph Technical Workgroups

Clinical/Business Workflows & Data Flows

  • Goal: Identify the capabilities that the system needs in order to support common clinical/business and data flows

  • Meets: Every Wednesday from 10-11 am ET

Reference Architecture/Authorities/Policies

  • Goals: Produce a design document that outlines the system capabilities needed to accomplish the requirements of the workflows & data flows and data standards

  • Meets: Every Wednesday from 1-2 pm ET

Data Standards Technical Workgroup

  • Goals: Identify data and vocabulary standards needed to satisfy the use cases, as well as their common and unique data needs

  • Meets: Every Friday from 3-4 pm ET
